Baking and decorating cakes is my passion and something I enjoy very much, having baked cakes and desserts for friends and family for many years.
With memories of licking the bowl whilst nana baked afternoon tea, and my mum teaching me the basics of making a good Anzac biscuit, baking has always been a part of my life.
The whole process of baking is exciting for me; feeling the butter to make sure its soft enough to cream with the sugar. Always smelling the vanilla before adding it to the bowl, tapping the flour slowly into the mix and making sure it disappears into the batter. Bending down and peering through the oven door, eagerly awaiting the finished product. Most of all, I love seeing the smile and joy on people's faces when they too are enjoying it.
